1. Core Principle
QR Code is designed to work fully offline and privately. Creating, scanning, saving, and viewing QR codes happens entirely on your device — we put your privacy first by minimizing the data we handle.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimal data necessary to run the app's core features and improve stability.
3. Required & Optional Permissions
QR Code is intentionally permission-light. We only request what the core scanning and saving features actually need.
Important Clarification on Camera: The camera permission is used only for the live scan preview. Camera frames are processed locally on your device in real time and are never stored, saved, or uploaded.
4. What We DO NOT Collect
We want to be very clear about our strict boundaries regarding your privacy.
5. How We Use Data
The minimal data involved in using the app is strictly used to:
- Generate and scan QR codes & barcodes
- Keep your history available locally
- Save generated QR images to your gallery
- Improve performance and reliability
- Fix bugs and crashes
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, share, or transmit your personal data.
Since all QR processing happens on your device, there is nothing to share. If you choose to open a scanned link, you're redirected to that website directly — you leave our app entirely.
This means:
- No third-party analytics embedded in the app
- No advertising SDKs collecting identifiers
- No cloud storage of your scans or creations
7. Data Storage & Retention
- QR history: Stored only in the app's local database on your device.
- Generated images: Saved only to your gallery when you choose to export.
- Servers: We operate no servers — nothing is stored with us.
You can clear your history or delete all app data at any time from Settings, or instantly by uninstalling the App.
8. Security
Your privacy is protected by design — the app is built around an offline, local-first architecture:
- 100% on-device processing
- No cloud involvement whatsoever
- Local database protected by Android's app sandbox
Note: QR codes you create can contain sensitive information — always be mindful when sharing them, as anyone who scans the code can read its content.
9. Your Rights
You are always in control: clear your scan history, delete saved QR images, and revoke app permissions at any time via your device's app settings. Since the app collects no account data, there is nothing more to delete.
10. Children's Privacy
This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and the app has no features that require collecting any.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
