Privacy Policy for Rich Browser

Your privacy is fundamental to our design philosophy. We do not collect, store, or share your personal browsing history or data on our servers.

Developer: Rich KYC

1. Introduction

Welcome to Rich Browser (referred to as "we", "our", "us", or "the App"). Your privacy is fundamental to our design philosophy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.

Our core principle is that your browsing data belongs to you and stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or share your personal browsing history or data on our servers.

Agreement: By using Rich Browser, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Collect (Or Do Not Collect)

Rich Browser is designed to minimize data collection. Here is a breakdown of how your information is handled:

2.1 Data Stored Locally

All the following data is stored exclusively on your device in the App's private storage area. We have no remote servers that receive or store this data:

  • Browsing History: The URLs of websites you visit.
  • Bookmarks: Your saved favorite websites.
  • Cookies & Cache: Website data that helps pages load faster.
  • Form Data: Information you enter into web forms.

2.2 Data Processed by Third-Parties

To provide core browser functionality, your device must connect to the internet. This involves:

🔍 DuckDuckGo Search API

Your search queries are sent directly to DuckDuckGo via encrypted (HTTPS) connection. DuckDuckGo does NOT track you, store your IP, or create profiles.

🌐 Webpage Loading

When you connect to a website, you are connecting directly to their servers. They may collect data according to their own policies. We have no control over third-party websites.

3. Specific Feature Disclosures

🕵️ 3.1 Incognito Mode

No history, cookies, cache, or form data is saved on your device after you close the tabs. Note: ISPs and visited websites can still see your activity. Searches still route through DuckDuckGo securely.

🌍 3.2 Translation Feature

When activated, webpage text is sent to a third-party translation service (like Google or Yandex) via HTTPS. We do not store the text of the pages you translate.

🔍 3.3 Find in Page

The "Find in Page" feature operates entirely offline on your device. The text you search for within a specific webpage never leaves your device.

💻 3.4 Desktop Site

Enabling "Desktop Site" simply changes the browser identification string sent to web servers. It does not collect any additional data.

3.5 Bookmarks & Add to Home Screen

These features store website URLs locally on your device. No data is sent to us or any third party when you bookmark a site or add it to your home screen.

4. Third-Party Services Summary

Service Purpose & Data Sent
DuckDuckGo API Web search results. Search query (anonymous, no IP tracking).
Translation API Page translation (Optional). Webpage text content.
Android WebView Displaying webpages. May collect diagnostic data (Google).
Important: Rich Browser does NOT use any analytics SDKs (like Google Analytics, Firebase, or Crashlytics). We do not track app usage.

5. Permissions Explained

Permission Required For / Data Access
Internet Loading websites, searching via DuckDuckGo API. Sends search queries and website requests.
Storage / Media Saving bookmarks, cache, downloads. App-specific folder only. No access to personal files.

6. Children's Privacy

Rich Browser does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require user accounts, and all data remains local. DuckDuckGo also does not track users of any age.

If you believe your child has somehow provided us with personal information (which is technically impossible given our architecture), please contact us immediately.

7. Data Deletion (User Controls)

You have full control over your local data. You can delete all browsing data directly from the App settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Delete Browsing Data
  2. Select the time range (Last hour, Last 24 hours, All time)
  3. Select what to delete (History, Cookies, Cache, Form data)
  4. Confirm deletion

Note: This does NOT delete your search history from DuckDuckGo because DuckDuckGo never stores it in the first place. Rich Browser does not require accounts, so there is no server-side account to delete.

🔒 8. Data Security

Since your data remains on your device, the security of your browsing history and bookmarks depends on the security of your device itself:

  • Use your device's screen lock (PIN, password, or biometric)
  • Do not leave your device unlocked in untrusted environments
  • Consider using Incognito Mode for sensitive browsing

All communication with DuckDuckGo's API and websites is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher whenever possible.

📝 9. Changes to Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in App features or Google Play requirements. Any changes will be posted:

  • Within the App (Settings > Privacy Policy)
  • On this document with an updated "Last Updated" date

Continued use of Rich Browser after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
